National Enterprise Network operates from a central office base in Milton Keynes with a team of staff whose activities primarily centres around representation activities, member services and project management.

Here we introduce you to each member of the National Enterprise Network team:

Dawn Whiteley MBE, Chief Executive

Dawn is an experienced and dedicated leader, passionate about start-up and SME development. She has developed a vast experience of the needs of start up and small businesses following twenty five years working in the enterprise support sector, further supplemented by practical involvement in several family businesses.

Before becoming the Chief Executive in 2011, Dawn worked at Business Link Yorkshire where she had undertaken a variety of roles since 2008, most latterly as Head of Enterprise.  Before joining Business Link Yorkshire, Dawn was General Manager of a Network member, West Yorkshire Enterprise Agency who were then one of the largest independent enterprise agencies in the UK, employing over 120 people and with a turnover in excess of £5m pa.

Dawn was awarded an MBE for services to business support and enterprise in the Queen’s 90th Birthday Honours in June 2016, she is a Fellow of the RSA and a Member of the IoD.

 

Carol Daniels, Operations Manager

Carol joined National Enterprise Network in June 2012 having previously worked for a national charity for over 13 years in a similar role. She is responsible for the day to day running of the head office in Milton Keynes, line management of the Administrator as well as contract management of the Start & Grow RGF 6 contract for the West Midlands and Yorkshire & Humber regions.

Carol also undertakes the role of Company Secretary which includes all governance administration and attendance at Finance and Board meetings. She is a mum to three children and in her spare time enjoys keeping fit and socialising.

Paul Hopper, Membership Executive

Paul joined National Enterprise Network in March 2016, having previously been involved in organising exhibitions and conferences for a large membership organisation in London. He is responsible for the day-to-day liaison with existing members, whether face-to-face or by phone or email. Paul is also responsible for introducing new members into the network.

Away from work, Paul hones his keyboard skills by playing the church organ every Sunday.

 

Mike Stanley, Project Manager

Mike is responsible for developing and delivering the multi-million pound Regional Growth Fund start up programme Start and Grow in the West Midlands and Yorkshire & Humber – working with local enterprise agencies to deliver 700 plus start-ups over the two year programme.

Before joining NEN, Mike was Area Manager South Yorkshire for Business Link Yorkshire where he was responsible for 20 advisers delivering business support to pre-start, start up, SME’s and social enterprises. Mike also spent 10 years running his own business following a successful career in the holiday and leisure industry.

 

Hayley Williams, Marketing support

Hayley has worked with National Enterprise Network since 2006, supporting the team across the full range of marketing, PR and event activity both within and outside the membership network.

A Communications graduate with 15 years professional marketing and project management experience, Hayley prides herself on a personable and organised approach, with ability to focus on both minute detail and also develop wider marketing strategies.

Gemma Brosnan, Office/Finance Assistant

An experienced administrator, Gemma joined towards the end of 2015, as our Office/Finance Assistant.

Gemma has a busy role, dealing with everything from our day-to-day administration and keeping our CRM up to date, to invoicing and membership renewals. Gemma is often the first point-of-contact for telephone and email enquiries.

Away from work, Gemma is kept busy by her young son and enjoys reading in what free time is left for her.
