The National Federation of Enterprise Agencies was formed in 1992 as an independent, not for profit organisation – created out of a crucial need that the emerging local enterprise agencies had for national representation with key stakeholders in central government, with other agencies and the private sector and to enable networking across this new, substantial enterprise support sector.

Initially, our members were drawn solely from traditional enterprise agencies – those that provided independent and impartial advice, training and mentoring to new and emerging businesses. As the enterprise support sector has developed, so has our membership base and we are proud to now also represent Chambers of Commerce, local authorities, other specialist enterprise providers, universities and corporate organisations across England.

Rebranded in recent years as National Enterprise Network, our organisation has been drawing attention to the valuable work enterprise support organisations do to encourage and support pre-start and start up businesses across England for over twenty years. We are proud to maintain a strong, active membership base and our activities continue to reiterate the value of the small business sector to the economy as a whole. Long may it continue!
