NEN member, Be Inspired Today’s Resilience program is a unique seven to 12-week fully funded intensive development program designed to support founders of small social organisations, who have been impacted by COVID, the cost of living crisis, feeling overwhelmed or struggling generally.
As a result of Be Inspired Today (BIT)’s work with social leaders over the past three years, they have an understanding of how COVID affects small social organizations. BIT felt that the supportive services were not sufficient and a holistic approach was necessary, leading to the development of the resilience program.
Who Is It For?
The program is aimed at founders of small social organisations. These are individuals working on their own or have a very small team.
They are likely to be operating in a local area where support and advice is limited. They could also be a lived experience leader, with a disability or mental health condition where the last couple of years has made running their social organisation harder. They may be on low income and the impact of the cost-of-living crisis is now causing anxiety around financial sustainability.
These social leaders could also have caring responsibilities which means support is difficult to access around caring for others. Or English may not be their first language, making it more challenging to seek help. Founders also may be someone with a professional qualification or a field expert who runs a private business and is struggling with balancing time and money between running their private work and a community based social organisation.
Available Support
The BIT Resilience and Sustainability program is a seven to 12-week fully intensive program of support fully funded by the AVIVA Community Fund and National Emergency Trust.
It includes:
- Seven workshops, each 1-1.5 hours, delivered on a 1-2-1 covering various themes to build knowledge and explore solutions.
- Weekly drop-in group sessions to connect with other social leaders across the UK, building a peer support network.
- Six months FREE access to the SE (Social Enterprise) Folk membership covering 50+ events, access to the knowledge hub and a UK-wide community of social leaders.
The program will cover five themes aimed at getting leaders back on track. Based on each founder’s community work and existing foundations, modules are designed according to individual needs.
